Find out more about the places you'll visit on this tour:

A haven of tranquillity and a harbour of tradition, connect with Dublin’s historic past and immerse yourself in local culture. From a castle steeped in history to a flourishing botanical garden and a bustling fishing village – there are plenty of stops and sights to see on the Darby O’Gill tour from Dublin city to Malahide Castle & Howth Summit.

Climb on board our unique open panoramic coach and take an adventure with us to one of the oldest Castle’s in Ireland. An interesting mix of architectural styles, the 12th century Malahide Castle has seen many fashions and many faces! Start your discoveries with an informative guided tour of this tapestry of Irish history, exploring stunningly preserved rooms like the Oak room and great hall. Then spend some time in the visitor centre learning more about the Talbot family who called this castle home for almost eight hundred years.

Outside, step into the immaculately maintained grounds where gardening enthusiasts will be particularly pleased. Adjoining the castle is the secret walled garden which showcases some spectacular rare plants in all their glory from around the world, in seven uniquely styled greenhouses and a period Victorian conservatory. Continue to the west lawns and gaze at the expansive beauty of the unspoilt parkland, stretching to almost 250 acres.

We then move on to the maritime seaside village of Howth. This county Dublin coastal retreat is teaming with life and brimming with activities in yet more historic surroundings. After ascending Howth summit and pausing for photographs from this magnificent vantage point, the choice is yours! Take a stroll along the pier (traditional fish & chips in hand!) while taking in the sights of this busy fishing village. Survey the work of the fishing trawlers manoeuvring about the harbour, go bird watching, spot the seals, visit the tea rooms or make it to Howth Lighthouse and peer across Dublin bay to see the tiny island of Ireland’s Eye.

You’ll be hooked on all that Howth has to offer. From the sound of the halyards clanging against boat masts to the chatty atmosphere of the modern village with its traditional shopfronts. Enjoy an array of boutique shopping, artisan food, craft markets and bustling bars – not to mention the restaurants! Treat yourself to some delicious ice-cream or the freshest fish you can get before making your way to our customised coach and the return route to Dublin.
